If you’re a professional sportsperson you don’t have holidays like other people. In my case, I take part in a number of competitions all year round. At the beginning of July I had the Enduro World Championship races in Belgium. And at the end of July I took part in the Baja España-Aragón competition. Later on things were quieter and I was able to relax a little. I try to take advantage of the summer to do things that I can’t do during the rest of the year, like spending time with friends, going to swim on the beach and even taking a day off. Anyway, I mainly use the summertime to spend time with my people. I’m planning to take 12 days off in August to go on a trip with my partner. I don’t want to travel too far because I spend all the year travelling, so I won’t be taking a plane. I want to take advantage of the time to rest a little. So I’ll stay near home and visit somewhere in Catalonia, or maybe Menorca. Because it’s so hot in summer I like to unplug and also to take time off from the motorbike. In any case, I do have to make sure I keep reasonably fit, so I use the summer to do other types of sport like jet-skiing, cycling and hill-walking. Though I spend the whole year training, at the end of August I start working intensively on the preparations for the Dakar Rally, which begins in January. The competition season starts again at the end of summer. I’m going to Peru to take part in the Inca Challenge from the 11th to the 13th of September. But I don’t have anything big until October.
