This summer is going to be intense, full of different activities and with no holidays. Although I won’t be on holiday, I will do a lot of travelling, because in August I’ll attend an international synchronized swimming campus during which I’ll spend one week in Rome, one in New York, one in Oxford and another in Barcelona. But what I’m most looking forward to in the coming three months is the project that I’m starting up with Margaret Crespi, a fellow national synchronized swimming team member who I’ve won medals with and who I have a great understanding with. We’ve created a synchronized swimming group called Olympias and we’ll perform at events. We’ve set up base in Majorca, which is where Margeret is from, and we’re having a good time there, even though we have to train a lot to get everything ready for the summer. We’ve spent a lifetime training in order to compete and now we’re looking to have fun and entertain the spectators. We’ll put on performances that have never been seen before in the world of synchronized swimming because now we can do what we want and there are no rules and no limits, only putting on a show, and that’s what motivates us a lot because it’s what we like to do. I spend the free time I have in July and September doing what I like with my family, walking on the beach with my son and my husband, with our dog along with us. I also plan to start reading again since I haven’t been able to do it for some time now. I have pending Kilian Jornet’s Run or Die and the biography of Nelson Mandela. But not everything will be free time for leisure, I’m also very interested in raw veganism, which is based on food that purifies the body. It’s become quite fashionable and I’m studying it in the spare time I have between preparing the swimming shows, taking care of my son and preparing for the campus.
